My 1st Seminar!

As you may know, I am the newbie at Redwood and at the end of June I had my first experience of a Redwood Wills, Trusts and Estate Planning Seminar. I must say I found it so informative and the way the complicated issue of Estate Planning was explained in plain, straight forward English, was amazing.

I also loved meeting the people that had attended and getting to know them a little bit before and after the Seminar and during the tea break. Reading the attendees feedback after the Seminar, was interesting and it became clear to me that the team took a very keen interest in what they had to say and how they felt about the Seminar. It was also clear that Redwood was committed to providing the best possible Seminar by taking all of the comments on board and I was pleased to be part of that.

The Seminar was tailored to help people understand the issues surrounding Estate Planning and there was absolutely no pressure put on anyone to become clients of Redwood. Although it would, of course, be great to offer individual advice and guidance to the attendees and help them to get their Estate Planning in place, the team felt that if the seminar will spur them on to put some planning in place, even if that is with another company, it would have been extremely worthwhile. I’ve never been a good salesperson but I am committed to providing great customer service and I’m so glad that Redwood is a company that’s dedicated to helping people and giving them want they want or need rather than pressurising them into anything.

For someone who started at Redwood with no Wills and no Lasting Powers of Attorneys, the Seminar truly made me realise the importance of having these in place, especially as I have a 6 year old daughter. I had always thought that I was a bit young to worry about it all and I had the subconscious ‘I’m invincible’ attitude, thinking that I have plenty of time to put it all in place and that nothing is going to happen to me yet. However, I realise now, having listened to the case study at the Seminar, that no one knows what life will hold and if your Estate Planning is all in place, there is one thing less to worry about. I won’t have to worry about what will happen to my daughter should anything happen to my husband and I as I know that our Wills will make sure that she is looked after by who we want to look after her and is brought up the way that we would want her to be.

I am now encouraging members of my family to attend a Seminar so that they can benefit from a better understanding of the areas covered and to hopefully encourage them to take action. Perhaps they can see me do the introduction or the question and answer session as I’ve already started with this and so far, everyone has been so kind and it has been a joy to do!
